Genetically Modified Food
(Genetically Modified Organisms)
The major GMO crops are Corn, Soy, Sugar Beets, Canola, Cottonseed Oil, Sugar, Hawaiian Papaya, Zucchini, Alfalfa and Yellow Crookneck Squash. They are made into sweeteners such as high-fructose corn syrup and additives used in approximately 80 percent of processed food products in US grocery stores.
Genetically Modified Organisms are linked to disorders such as pre-mature aging, allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, infertility, autism, cancer and more. Source: The Institute for Responsible Technology.

Glyphosate: A Trajectory of Human Misery
by Heidi Stevenson - April 28th 2013 - GreemMedInfo.com
Glyphosate was first introduced in 1974 and has become the world's most dominant herbicide. Estimates put glyphosate-tolerant GM (Genetically Modified) crops at 90% of all transgene crops. Glyphosate has likely caused more damage to human health than any other chemical ever produced. Glyphosate is systemic in plants, so it cannot be washed off. If it's used on a crop, it will be in the food produced from it. All the soy, sugar, cotton, and corn that ends up in packaged foods is carrying glyphosate into our bodies. Study Links Monsanto's Roundup to Autism, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's
Sunday May 5, 2013 / NationOfChange.org
Genna Reed, News Analysis: A new review of hundreds of scientific studies surrounding glyphosate-the major component of Monsanto's Roundup herbicide-sheds light on its effects within the human body. The paper describes how all of these effects could work together, and with other variables, trigger health problems in humans, including debilitating diseases like gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. How to Avoid Fake Organic Products
Nation of Change / ANTHONY GUCCIARDI / PROGRESSIVE JOURNALISM FOR POSITIVE ACTION
Thanks to corporate loopholes and profit-driven manufacturers, it's harder than ever to really know what you are putting into your body, such as "Fake Health Companies" that are subsidiary corporations that are actually owned by major parent companies like Coca-Cola, that really don't care about the quality or health effects of their products. Coca-Cola only removed a known carcinogenic chemical after being forced to do so by the state of California has acquired Odwalla and Honest tea.
For a chart of the many familiar corporate food giants actually have bought up or created many "health" food companies in order to soak up some of the profits from the rapidly expanding market of organic food items. Go to Organic Processing Industry Structure
Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed health care organization in the United States, has advised its members against GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in food. "GMOs have been added to our food supply since 1994, but most people don't know it because the United States does not require labeling of GMOs "
More than 49 countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, India, Russia, Japan, Spain and the UK, require genetically engineered foods to be labeled. The United States is one of the only developed nations that does not require food producers to make consumers aware of genetically modified food.
Genetically modified crops allows the use of more pesticides and herbicides that contain "xenoestrogens".
Most scientists that study xenoestrogens, including The Endocrine Society, regard them as serious environmental hazards that have hormone disruptive effects on both wildlife and humans. Source: Wikipedia.
Endocrine disruptors or xenoestrogens are defined as exogenous (external) substances that can interfere with the functions of the endocrine system, causing adverse health effects in the organism directly exposed to it or in its offspring. Source: Alive.com
Xenoestrogens (literally "foreign estrogen") are man-made compounds that mimic the effects of natural estrogens in the body. Avoiding xenoestrogens is an important step towards reducing the many symptoms and health problems associated with excessive estrogen levels, including breast cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, PMS, PCOS, and infertility/impotency. It is especially important for pregnant and lactating women, children and teenagers, and those with estrogen-sensitive diseases to reduce exposure to xenoestrogens.

A bacteria (E-Coli) and or a virus is used to invade the cell of a species or organism by inserting (forcing) a gene from another incompatible species or organism with a desired trait.
Such as when scientist inserted (forced) anti- freeze genes from an Arctic fish into tomato DNA, allowing the plants to survive frost. Although it worked, fortunately these tomatoes never made it the market. Fish and tomatoes are not compatible organisms. The natural way of creating a hybrid plant is by crossing and re-crossing plants of compatible species for desired traits.
GM Corn: Bacillus thuringiensis (BT) bacteria is force into the corn's DNA making it resistant to certain pests. Every kernel of B.t. corn you eat is full of this bacteria.
Genetically Modified Corn accounts for 88 percent of all the corn planted in the U.S.. This product is in foods such as corn meal, tortilla chips, yogurt, bread, breakfast cereals, "honey" roasted nuts, salad dressings, canned fruits, jams, barbecue sauce and ketchup.
Everything You HAVE TO KNOW about Dangerous Genetically Modified Foods
from Jeffrey M. Smith executive director of the Institute for Responsible Technology.
The leading consumer advocate promoting healthier non-GMO choices, Jeffrey M. Smith, is the author of the world's bestselling and #1 rated book on the health dangers genetically modified organisms (GMOs). His meticulous research documents how biotech companies continue to mislead legislators and safety officials to put the health of society at risk, and the environment in peril.
Unintended harm to other organisms A laboratory study was published in Nature21 showing that pollen from B.t. corn caused high mortality rates in monarch butterfly caterpillars . Monarch caterpillars consume milkweed plants, not corn, but the fear is that if pollen from B.t. corn is blown by the wind onto milkweed plants in neighboring fields, the caterpillars could eat the pollen and perish. Although the Nature study was not conducted under natural field conditions, the results seemed to support this viewpoint. Unfortunately, B.t. toxins kill many species of insect larvae indiscriminately; it is not possible to design a B.t. toxin that would only kill crop-damaging pests and remain harmless to all other insects
Genetically Modified Trees are a serious threat to our health, ecosystems and planet.
Thanks to GM WATCH gmwatch.org I found the following MUST SEE award-winning film, "A Silent Forest" explores the growing global threat of genetically engineered trees to our environment and to human health. The film features renowned geneticist and host of PBS' The Nature of Things David Suzuki, who explores the unknown and possibly disastrous consequences of improperly tested GE methods.
A Silent Forest
Many new plant genetic engineering technologies and GM plants have been patented, and patent infringement is a big concern of agribusiness. Consumer advocates are worried that patenting these new plant varieties will raise the price of seeds so high that small farmers and third world countries will not be able to afford seeds for GM crops, thus widening the gap between the wealthy and the poor.
Patent enforcement may also be difficult, as the contention of the farmers that they involuntarily grew Monsanto-engineered strains when their crops were cross-pollinated shows. One way to combat possible patent infringement is to introduce a "suicide gene" into GM plants. These plants would be viable for only one growing season and would produce sterile seeds that do not germinate. Farmers would need to buy a fresh supply of seeds each year. However, this would be financially disastrous for farmers in third world countries who cannot afford to buy seed each year and traditionally set aside a portion of their harvest to plant in the next growing season. Monsanto &Cancer Milk:
FOX NEWS KILLS STORY & FIRES Reporters
FOX NEWS Reporters Steve Wilson & Jane Akre uncover that most of the Milk in the USA and across some parts of the world is unfit to drink due to Monsanto Corporation's POSILAC®, which has been proven to be a cancer-causing growth hormone.(known in short as "BGH" "BST" or "rBGH" ), but they were fired for attempting to inform people of the truth. After a long court battle, the Court dismissed the whistle blowers protection for the reporters because the Court stated that there was no law to force that the NEWS state the truth.

How Monsanto Went From Selling Aspirin to Controlling Our Food Supply
Sunday April 21, 2013 / By Jill Richardson, AlterNet
Monsanto controls our food, poisons our land, and influences all three branches of government. http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/15856-how-monsanto-went-from-selling-aspirin-to-controlling-our-food-supply
The World According to Monsanto
There's nothing they are leaving untouched: the mustard, the okra, the bringe oil, the rice, the cauliflower. Once they have established the norm: that seed can be owned as their property, royalties can be collected. We will depend on them for every seed we grow of every crop we grow. If they control seed, they control food, they know it, it's strategic. It's more powerful than bombs. It's more powerful than guns. This is the best way to control the populations of the world. The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by
Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market. Monsanto's long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence.
War on Health
From www.Top Documentary Films.com.
War on Health is the first documentary detailing and challenging the FDA agenda and its allegiance with the international Codex Alimentarius, which hopes to establish a monolithic food and health regime.
Betraying its founding mandate to assure drug, food and chemical safety in the interests of public health, the FDA today is a repressive bureaucracy serving pharmaceutical and agricultural greed and profits.
Vaccines, medical devices, prescription drugs are fast tracked at alarming rates through the FDA at the expense of scientific oversight to assure their efficacy and safety.
The result is hundreds of thousands premature deaths annually from pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines and medical devices and an epidemic of medical incompetence and fraud sanctioned by federal health officials.
The Future of Food
There is a revolution happening in the farm fields and on the dinner tables of America a revolution that is transforming the very nature of the food we eat. A web of market and political forces are changing what we eat as huge multinational corporations seek to control the world's food system. It's estimated that Monsanto owns 11,000 Patents.
The Future of Food offers an in-depth investigation into the disturbing truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade.
Introduction 9 Min. 50 Sec.
Seeds of Freedom
Seeds of Freedom charts the story of seed from its roots at the heart of traditional, diversity rich farming systems across the world, to being transformed into a powerful commodity, used to monopolies the global food system
The film highlights the extent to which the industrial agricultural system, and genetically modified (GM) seeds in particular, has impacted on the enormous agro-biodiversity evolved by farmers and communities around the world, since the beginning of agriculture.
Seeds of Freedom seeks to challenge the mantra that large-scale, industrial agriculture is the only means by which we can feed the world, promoted by the pro-GM lobby. In tracking the story of seed it becomes clear how corporate agenda has driven the take over of seed in order to make vast profit and control of the food global system.
